Dear Neighbors,

Everyone should have recieved the notification regarding tomorrow night's meeting at SCC. The Northview developers have submitted a proposed settlement agreement regarding their student housing project, at the Winn Dixie site. They have asked that we (BOD) share this new proposed plan with the association members. We (BOD) ask that you take time to attend and give us your feedback.

The Northview architects will provide a presentation depicting the new plan and we will have an open forum to discuss the effect this will have on the community. Our attorneys will be present to answer your questions. We (BOD) are asking that you give your honest feedback regarding this very important issue.

The meeting begins at 6:30pm, at Seminole State College. This is a private meeting of the Carillon Association members, so please bring your ID to verify your membership. Members of the press will not be permitted. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Thank you,

Marylee, Pete, Scott, Lou & Ken

Northview Update

A Special Meeting of the Members of Carillon Community Residential Association, Inc. will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 6:30 PM at Seminole State College, Oviedo College Center, Room OVF100, 2505 Lockwood Blvd., Oviedo, FL 32765, to discuss a proposed settlement offer of the "Northview Development Project", located at the old Winn Dixie site, on Lockwood Blvd.

Rental Restrictions Amendment Update

Due to continued interest in amending Carillon’s Covenants to include guidelines for rental properties, the Board has conferred with the association attorney to review available options in order to compile the required votes to pass the amendment.  As you may recall, your documents require approval by 2/3 of the votes of the Membership in order to amend the Covenants.  That is 556 total affirmative votes needed.

Instead of collecting the required amount of votes by proxy (which have a 90-day expiration), the attorney suggests a less-restrictive approach wherein signatures are collected from several sources.  Some will be collected door-to-door, others can be gathered at community events held over several weekends to obtain signatures.  This process is similar to a petition and allows more flexibility as there is no time limit on collecting the signatures.  Rather, at the point the required number of signatures are obtained, the amendment, along with the signatures, would be recorded.

Please join us on November 5th, 12th or 19th from 9 AM to 12 PM at the Carillon soccer field in suppers of the proposed amendment!  The proposed language can be found by clicking here.
